Overview

Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy was founded durring the late 9th century, by Cú̄̌ Joīnḱ 'Berry Lily' Yā̋ Cúnvoī Ca̋mé̄ Joú̄b Së̂f̄́. The establishment of Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy's construction back out of the project. Cú̄̌ Joīnḱ 'Berry Lily' Yā̋ Cúnvoī Ca̋mé̄ Joú̄b Së̂f̄́ pushed on reguardles, and Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.

Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy was built using the conventions of Goblin durring the late 9th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.

Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy is buildings are arranged arround a network of premissive flagstone streets which form a diagonal shaped grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is the proud owner of a thick set of fortified walls fashioned from querried stone blocks. While not up to snuff for a fort or castle wall, the town's walls are naturaly much larger than those of forts or castles. Therefore, the construction such a wall is most expencive. Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy's buget focused wall would serve its community well in battle in spite of looking unimpressive compared to castles and fortresses. Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy's top tier civilian fortifications has sufferd soem light damage, reducing its function a little in some spots, but could almsot certainly preform as expected... Though some of the worse spots could lead to the loss of defenders lives if attackers identified the weaknesses ahead of time.

Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy’s streets. In spite of this, quite a few people can be seen reading and the town has an abundance of libraries. It’s quite clear the community values education.

Cultural Notes

Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy's mayor's house was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.

History

Almost every community has some problem with bandits and highwaymen, but Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy is seriously plagued with raiders. One or more groups of persistent plunderers are hitting the community repeatedly, and they lack the necessary resources to fend them off or protect all their holdings.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Kami ended a famine plaguing Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy. One of Fē̂ Já̋ä Vǖy's local festivals commemorates this miracle.
